Cruise Mania Classic Car Cruise

Chevelle SS

Saw a car show on my way home from work tonight. Fortunately, I've gotten into the habit of carrying a cheap digital camera with me everywhere I go. It's not that terrific, but it gets the job done.

Detroit, as I'm finding out, really is the 'Motor City'. People love their cars, and although you don't see them in the wintertime and the early spring (for fear of snow and therefore salt, followed by rust), come summertime, all the hot rods come popping out. You see them on the street here and there - they're common enough that locals don't bat an eye. And they have car shows, really just simple show-n-shines, from June to September. There's a really big one coming up in August, I believe.

AMC AMX

This one is run by a local VFW chapter, along with the "Universal Mall" where the cars gather. They have a 'Moving' version of the Vietnam War Memorial (The Wall) that is just Michigan service people who died in Vietnam, and they sell t-shirts and POW/MIA bumper stickers and they have adopted a couple of Army units in Iraq and they send them things they might need. Pretty cool.

So here are the photos (only 26 this time, honest!), hope you like them!

Schweet!

Cars rocked, and I chuckled at Jack Spratt and his wife, too. :)
